Some Training to Jump Higher

Like many other basketball avid fans, seeing an NBA player dunk the ball is a sight to see, certainly. Can a person fly in the air? Yes and no. Here is why, when a person is in the air, they have hangtime and this determines how much time that you are suspended in the air. Not many people have a hangtime of more than one and a half second. If those people do have a long hangtime then it will look like they will be floating in the air in a way. Can we say that for Michael Jordan?

You see, every one in the world has muscle fibers. They have the slow twitch muscle fiber and then they have the fast twitch muscle fiber. The slow twitch muscle fibers are responsible for endurance exercises or sports that require long physical activity and the fast twitch muscle fiber is for explosive movements. When a person trains in an exercise, then it will either workout the slow twitch muscle fiber or the fast twitch muscle fiber. An example would be like the squat exercise, when you do them fast and in low reps then that will target the fast twitch muscle fibers, but if you do lots of reps in the squats like 15 or more than that will change and start working on the slow twitch muscle fibers.

A great way to improve yourself in sport and become better at weight training is to improve your cardiovascular endurance. This is the way that you can control your breathing and you will have better oxygen running through your body and it will give you more endurance. Some exercises that you can do that will help improve your cardiovascular endurance is exercises or workouts like swimming or jogging. When you have good cardio on your body then that means that you will be able to train for long periods of time and that is an advantage because with that then you will gain more experience and more level of endurance.

When you have more strength then that also means that you are stronger right? Okay that was a bad example but when you have more strength then that means you are able to create more force in your legs and that will help you to become a better jumper and you will increase your vertical. You should focus on weight training because many people do and it is good for the body and not to mention that lower body exercises will help your greatly.
